Who is the training for?
Anyone who is looking to start out as a brand new HGV driver from scratch, or perhaps you have been driving a 7.5 tonne van but now need to expand your driving business and require a larger, heavier vehicle to do the work.
Whatever your driving aims, we can help. Whether you want to drive a flatbed, an articulated lorry, a tanker, or a refrigerated lorry carrying food, we have the right HGV training course for you here at Crawley.
We can also help to enhance your lorry driving skills by providing training in how to pull a trailer behind a lorry, giving you even broader driving opportunities and we are here to guide you through the licence and legal requirements every step of the way as well.
What is involved?
Our professional HGV training is a fully comprehensive five day training course covering all aspects of driving and manoeuvring a large vehicle,. Successfully completing this course will give you the Category C on your licence which is also known as a Class 2 licence and basically enables you to drive any rigid vehicle over 7.5 tonnes.
If you want to go for the C + E Class 1 category then you will need to take part in a further five day training course, to teach you how to safely drive with a trailer behind as well.
Bear in mind that if you want to drive this size of vehicle professionally you will also need to pass the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence but we can provide a training package for you which covers both the C licence and the CPC requirements.
You can find out more about the exact CPC requirements elsewhere on our site, or call one of our advisers who can tell you what you need to do.
What will you get from doing this training?
Once you have completed this training, you will be fully skilled and legally compliant to drive any vehicle that doesn’t carry passengers, and weighs more than 7.5 tonnes.
How much will it cost?
A five day HGV training course which will give you the skills you need to extend your driving licence to include a C class 2 category, starts at around £1,200. Remember, we can also create a complete training package for you to include the CPC requirements if you are planning to drive this type of vehicle on a professional basis.
